About Us: Vital Feet Podiatry is a leading provider of foot care and podiatry services dedicated to improving the well-being of our clients. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foot Care Assistant to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals who require foot care assistance in the comfort of their homes and in aged care facilities.

Job Description: As a Foot Care Assistant / Mobile In-Home Podiatry Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality foot care services to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting our podiatrists in delivering foot care services to clients in their homes. 

  • Providing basic foot care, nail care, and related services as directed.

  • Ensuring client safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout the visit.

  • Maintaining accurate records of client visits and care provided. Adhering to confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.

  • Adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols.

  • Promoting a positive and compassionate environment for clients.

  • Home Visits/ Aged Care Facility Visits: Travel to patients' homes within the designated service area, following a pre-determined schedule. Ensure timely arrival, adhere to safety protocols, and maintain professionalism and respect for patients' privacy at all times.

  • Equipment and Supply Management, including sterilising and adhering to infection control protocols.

  • Assist with general administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, managing invoices, and maintaining inventory of supplies. Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure efficient operations.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in podiatry through continuing education and professional development opportunities. Seek feedback from podiatrists and actively engage in learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

 

Requirements:

  • Car Included: A company vehicle will be provided for client visits.

  • Phone Included: A company phone for communication and scheduling.

  • Training: Must be willing to complete training within 12 months.

  • Experience: Prior experience in aged care, healthcare, or nail care is desirable but not necessarily required.

  • Background Check: Candidates must pass a criminal background check, including drug and alcohol screening.

  • Clearances: Police clearance is mandatory.

  • Driver's License: A clean driver's license is required.

  • Eligibility: Eligibility to work within New Zealand is a must.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

  • Allied Health Assistant Certificate 3 or 4 or willing to obtain appropriate podiatry assistant training within 12 months of employment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.

  • Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to provide high-quality care to patients.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
